How secure is the MenuShop website?
Security is the main consideration for online purchasing which is why we take security very seriously at Menushop.
Whenever your personal information is sent to or from us we ensure that the information is sent securely using the latest SSL encryption (Secure Socket Layers). This means that the information cannot be intercepted and decrypted by anyone else - for tech-heads, we use a variable SSL encryption at 128 to 40 bit dependant on the browser capabilities. All of your orders and details are kept in a secure database on our webserver and can only be accessed by key members of the Menushop staff and are not shared with anyone else.
Whenever you login / register / order you will see the padlock logo in the top left hand corner of the screen.
This is an unofficial reminder to you that you are in a secure area of the website. This shows that you are using secure encryption. If you double click on the padlock it will bring up more details about our security certificate including the encryption level and the fact that the certificate is in our name.
You can also tell you are in a secure area by looking at the url of the page (in the address bar of your browser). This will always start with " https:// " instead of plain old https://
If you have any other questions about our security, please feel free to contact the webmaster

Cookie Policy
What are Cookies used for?
Most websites use cookies in order to improve the user experience by enabling that website to 'remember' information about your browsing experience, either for the duration of the visit or for repeat visits.
Cookies do a range of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, storing your preferences, and generally improving your experience of a website. Cookies make the interaction between you and the website faster and easier. If a website doesn't use cookies, it will think you are a new visitor every time you move to a new page on the site – for example, when you enter your login details and move to another page it won't recognise you and it won't be able to keep you logged in.
Some websites will also use cookies to enable them to target their advertising or marketing messages based for example, on your location and/or browsing habits.
What is a Cookie?
A cookie is a simple text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device by a website's server and only that server will be able to retrieve or read the contents of that cookie. Each cookie is unique to your web browser. It will contain some anonymous information such as a unique identifier and the site name and some digits and numbers. It allows a website to remember things like your preferences, what's in your shopping basket and analyse how well the website is performing.
Most cookies won't collect information that identifies you, and will instead collect more general information such as how users arrive at and use our websites, or a user's general location.
What sort of cookies does menushop.co.uk use?
First party cookies
In order to be able to shop on Menu Shop we require your computer to accept cookies. Some of our cookies are essential to enable the shopping basket and sign-in functions on our website, without them you would not be able to place an order with us. Our cookies don't store personal information such as name, address or any payment details.
Third Party Cookies
We allow Google to serve cookies that fall into one of the categories above. For example, like many companies, we use Google Analytics to help us monitor our website traffic. We may also use third party cookies to help us with market research, revenue tracking, improving site functionality and monitoring compliance with our terms and conditions and copyright policy.
What to do if you don't want cookies to be set
We have tried to ensure that you our customers have full visibility of the cookies used on our website. Our website requires certain cookies to be enabled for you to be able to shop at Menu Shop, however if you would like to restrict or block cookies from this website you can use your browser to do so. Each browser allows you to restrict or block cookies in different ways so we recommend that you visit the Help section to learn how to set your preferences.
