Copyright a Logo

This is where you have created a logo for corporate or business use, and you want to ensure that no-one else uses it for their benefit.  Therefore, you need to know how to copyright a logo for your own protection. There is however, differences between copyrighting a logo and trademarking a logo.  It is best to seek legal advice on this matter.

The simple way to copyright a piece of work is to fix the medium of expression – paper, cd, dvd etc.  Label it with date, author and clearly label the copyright symbol and post the item to yourself.  Do not open the package and store it in a safe place as it will be proof if required.

When creating any type of advertising you must be careful of copyright infringement.  Using images found through Google search can be great for getting ideas or finding a theme you want to create.  But most images you will find are copyrighted and you will need to seek permission to use them in any capacity.
